Information We Collect

Photos and Camera Access

• What: The App accesses your camera and photo library to capture and analyze images of the sky
• Why: To perform AI-powered analysis of contrail patterns and atmospheric conditions
• Storage: Images are stored locally on your device only
• Sharing: We do not share, sell, or transmit your photos to any third parties

AI Analysis Data

• What: Images are sent to OpenAI's GPT-4 Vision API (via AIProxy) for analysis
• Processing: Images are analyzed in real-time and are not stored by OpenAI or AIProxy
• Results: Analysis results (text descriptions, confidence scores, detected patterns) are stored locally on your device

Data We DO NOT Collect

How We Use Your Information

1. Local Storage Only: All photos and scan results are stored exclusively on your device using iOS SwiftData
2. AI Analysis: Photos are temporarily sent to OpenAI API for analysis, then discarded
3. No Cloud Backup: Your data is not backed up to any cloud service by the App
4. User Control: You can delete any scan result at any time by swiping left in the scan list

Third-Party Services

OpenAI API (via AIProxy)

• Purpose: AI-powered image analysis
• Data Sent: Photos you choose to analyze
• Data Retention: OpenAI does not store images sent via API (per their API policy)

• Purpose: In-app subscription management and paywalls

Data Security

• All data is stored locally on your device using iOS secure storage (SwiftData)
• Images are transmitted to OpenAI API over secure HTTPS connection
• No data is stored on external servers by SkySniffer

Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access: View all your stored scans in the app
• Delete: Remove any scan result from the app
• Control: Choose which photos to analyze
• Opt-out: Simply don't use the app if you don't want your photos analyzed

Children's Privacy

SkySniffer does not knowingly collect information from children under 13. The app is designed for general audiences and contains educational content only.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will notify users of any material changes by updating the "Last Updated" date.

SkySniffer provides AI-powered analysis for educational and informational purposes only. Results should not be considered definitive scientific conclusions. The app is designed for entertainment and learning about atmospheric phenomena.

Data Deletion

To delete all your data:

1. Swipe left on any scan in the app and tap "Delete"
2. To remove all data, simply delete the app from your device

All data is stored locally and will be permanently deleted when you uninstall the app.
